Opera - "The niche web browser".
Opera has long had a small slice of the browser
market pie and is holding its ground as a niche
web browser. It has a small yet faithful group of
users who enjoy the same benefits and features
any Internet Explorer or Firefox user does.
Browser security testing websites have consistently reported Opera to be the most secure browser compared to IE & Firefox. Having similar capabilities as its rivals, Opera has gained some ground in the browser market as more users are learning about it and how useful it is through other devices which use Opera, such as Nintendo Wii, Apple iPhone and other mobile devices.
The latest Opera Web browser offers several new features for functionality, security, usability, customization, searching, saving, taking shortcuts and accessing Web content. Whether you're going to work, working from home, developing Web sites, or just looking for a quick, solid browser that can help you quickly access the Internet, Opera delivers a superior Web experience for every aspect of your online life, with lots of tech tools for power users.

Netscape - December 2007, the once
popular web browser holding at its peak 98% of
the browser market, was forever forsaken.
Netscape was one of the pioneers to the
development of the much needed internet web
browser programmes in the early years of the
internet. But after many years of brutal
competition by its longest standing rival,
Internet Explorer, and the more recent, Mozilla
Firefox, Netscape was finally put down by its
owner AOL, for not gaining any ground over its
rivals despite a few concerted efforts.
That being said, Netscape is still a real alternative to IE7 & Firefox 2.0 as the latest edition was only launched on September 2007 and official support for Netscape will end on February 1st, 2008.
Netscape Navigator 9 is available as a standalone installation for Windows, Mac, and Linux. You should also be aware that Netscape has similar features to Firefox and ANY Firefox extension works on Netscape.
Other features available with Netscape are:
|
|
Cross-platform Run Navigator 9 on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux! |
|
|
URL correction Navigator will automatically correct common typos made in Web addresses. Examples: .cmo => .com, htp:// => http://, netscape, com => netscape.com |
|
|
Link Pad Use the Link Pad as a holding area for interesting links that don’t merit bookmarking. |
|
|
FF2 Extensions Install any Firefox ® 2-compatible extension. Browse through thousands of extensions at Mozilla Add-ons. |
|
|
